Cyberdoll Aleysha is far from complete... but her face is pretty much finalized so I have released the first 3d printable part of her skeleton on the mattslog patreon today.
Check out the part in 3d on Sketchfab.
The new eyeball mould with all it's parts (eyeball 3 part mould, black back part mould, iris mould) is finished and ready to print. Time to slice it up and see how it turns out. Made the eyeball slightly smaller so it sits loose in the socket because want to try and coat it with a clear glossy coat. Sorta clear from smooth on.
It feels like the open part at the front of the pelvis might result in strange deformations during posing if the silicone can move freely there. Humans have tight muscles that hold everything together so I'm reinforcing the front a little to give the skin something to hold on to... we'll see what happens. The pelvis is a tricky shape to wrap ones head around.
Instead of finishing the eye lashes... I had to start drafting out the pelvis as it's been something that's been nagging at the back of my mind. How is this going to work? It's easier to imagine once there is something there to build upon and visualize. This is a first draft. Will likely need a lot of magnets to keep the skin firmly attached for posing.
Got around to making the mould for the upper eye lashes. Now just need the lower eye lashes and that's that.
Just a quick update. The new eyebrow mould works. Tested it yesterday. Not worth taking a picture of the result though. Moving on to updating the eyelashes.
Tested out the latest iteration of the eyelash mould today and it was a complete... failure. The silicone parts are just so tiny and fragile and gets stuck in there that they tear during removal. So it was back to the drawing board. The last set of moulds was super time consuming to make so this time I tried taking some shortcuts. Here is the eyebrow mould. Will try printing it tomorrow. See how fits together and casts.
Test printed the eyelash mould... it lifted off the bed a little and the filament isn't yielding the finest results... but I think it's enough for a test cast. If it works out I can go ahead with re-print the rest of the face mould.
